Adam Bointon

Adam has worked as an R&D tax relief specialist for over 15 years, advising SMEs and accountancy firms on preparing and submitting successful claims on innovative work. He is currently Technical Director at randd uk, the R&D tax relief specialists based in Derby.

With a background in engineering, Adam specialises in advising clients in the manufacturing and software sectors. He is passionate about including clients in the submission process, translating technical narratives for SME clients and advising accountants on doing the same.

As a recipient of two academic scholarships from the Economic and Social Research Council and the Manchester School Journal, Adam graduated from the University of Manchester with a PhD in Economics, completing his doctoral thesis on the European monetary union. As a result, Adam possesses a unique understanding of the UK and European economies and associated taxes and reliefs.

Adam has been able to use his knowledge of the economy, statistical models and finance with his keen interest in technology, science and engineering, to transfer his skills to helping companies maximise access to R&D tax relief.

Alongside his fellow directors, Adam hosts and prepares randd uk’s webinar series on quarterly R&D tax updates.

He regularly hosts webinars on the subject of R&D tax relief to a wide range of accountancy firms across the UK, sharing his unique technical expertise with firms and advisers.
