Gemma Hope

Gemma has enjoyed a UK Government career spanning over twenty years holding several key roles specialising in cross Tax for VAT, Income Tax Self-Assessment and Corporation Tax. Having worked in many operational teams including Debt Management, Hidden Economy Compliance and Taskforce operations. Gemma has first-hand cross Government collaboration and face to face customer experience.

In 2020, Gemma joined the Maxing Tax Digital programme leading Communications and Engagement for VAT Penalty Reform. Upon completion of the project, Gemma moved into the Agent External Readiness Team and is helping people prepare for MTD for Income Tax. Gemma has a strong passion for building high performing teams, putting people first and driving effective outcomes. You may meet Gemma as she leads our pioneering HMRC MTD for Income Tax awareness events and supports customers in their journey to sign up to our testing phase.
