Julia Penny has over 30 years of training experience. This includes working in top 10 and smaller firms of accountants in technical and training roles and for listed companies providing information and training services to accountants.
Julia is extensively involved with the ICAEW as a volunteer and is their President (from June 2022- June 2023) and an ICAEW Board member. She is also a past chair of both the ICAEW Technical Advisory and Ethics Advisory Committees, a former member of the Financial Reporting Faculty Board and of the AAT's audit committee.
Julia is a keen technical author and prior to her commitments as President at ICAEW wrote a monthly article for AccountingWebUK. She is also co-author of the Bloomsbury publications A Practical Guide to UK Accounting and Auditing Standards and author of their Accounting Principles for Tax Practitioners. She also uses her technical writing skills to provide content for software companies and firms wishing to write their own policies and procedures.
