Sally Knight

Sally is an experienced charity accountant and governance specialist, drawing on nearly 30 years of expertise.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Sally had various roles in the commercial and charity sectors, before returning to the accountancy profession as a specialist charity Audit Manager. She progressed to Partner and acted for a wide range of charities and not for profit organisations until she decided to set up her own consultancy in 2017.

Sally now provides governance, advisory and training services through her company Sally Knight Consulting Ltd. She is retained by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to develop and deliver core ‘Charity Essentials’ webinars, the online Trustee Training Modules, CPD for Trustees and other courses. As well as being an FCA, Sally was one of the first charity advisors to achieve the ICAEW’s Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA); she achieved the ICAEW’s Sustainability Certificate in January 2024.

In January 2025, Sally was appointed as a visiting lecturer at Bayes Business School, London, to co-lead the Advanced Charity Accounting, Audit and Taxation modules for the Charity Accounting and Financial Management MSc/PGDiploma course at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness.

In her ‘spare’ time, Sally enjoys running - and riding as a pillion on the back of a Ducati Multistrada motorbike, touring and exploring in Europe and beyond (as time allows!).
