This session will introduce delegates to the ethical framework that underpins the requirements for members of accountancy professional bodies (such as ICAEW, ACCA ICAS and others). Then using these principles and practical examples, assist individuals in reflecting on various situations and consider the appropriate response.
The course will cover the following points, using practical examples throughout:
• Underlying ethical framework
• The fundamental ethical principles
• The threats and safeguards model
• Conflicts of interest and whistleblowing
• An introduction to Professional Conduct in Relation to Taxation (PCRT)
• An introduction to the risks of AI
The course will be relevant to new accountants in their first year in practice.
