Objectives

As we start to approach 2024, now is the time to consider whether any tax planning can be employed to help private clients reduce their income tax bills for 2023/24.

In this session we will consider the tax savings that can be made by moving savings into ISAs, earnings into pensions, by utilising allowances and by making tax-efficient investments.

We will also explore how partnering with a Wealth Management business can enable your firm to easily and profitably provide a holistic service to clients.

Key topics

We will consider segmenting the client base to identify individuals with inherent tax planning opportunities. This will include:

  • The income tax and CGT treatment in 2023/24 of individuals directly holding investments
  • The ongoing tax benefits of holding investments indirectly through an insurance bond wrapper
  • Making or increasing pensions contributions to reduce effective tax rates, particularly for those with incomes exceeding £100,000
  • Owner managed company profit extraction planning to optimise allowances
  • Marketing to clients and encouraging proactive conversations
  • Working in partnership with a trusted Independent Financial Adviser

Who should attend

Accountants in practice with clients that require in-year proactive wealth management services and tax advice.
