Accountex London is returning in the Spring, on 15-16 May 2024. London’s ExCeL is expected to welcome over ten thousand accounting and finance professionals through its doors.
The 250+ session strong education programme includes 12 theatres of CPD accredited content, the Fintech Theatre and 5 exhibitor stand theatres. It will be made up of thought-leaders in the field and beyond. As well as experts in everything from mental health to neurodiversity. Topics covered include AI, AML, outsourcing/offshoring, branding, future leaders, legislation, and more.

Delving into the world of tax is Sharon Cooke, Tax Technical Director from 20:20 Innovation, as she highlights her ‘Top 10 tax considerations for 2024/25’, which will include practical pointers and key takeaways. Sharon will also look into what the election is likely to mean for clients and ChatGPT in the Tax Tribunals and other AI use cases.
Sharon will also be on panel ‘The uncertain future facing your small business clients,’ with Andy North, Chief Marketing Officer, TaxCalc; Rebecca Benneyworth MBE,Tax Consultant and Lecturer, Rebecca Benneyworth & Co. The panel will explore how the switch to cash accounting, basis period reform, MTD, AI and political uncertainties may create some serious headaches for accountants who serve the small and unincorporated business sector.
Billie Mcloughlin, Practice Consultant/Chair Person of Tech Talk and David Norris, Technical Director, 20:20 Innovation will be delivering the seminar ‘The modern accountancy practice and how to get there’. The pair will consider what the most progressive firms are doing and the key to their success.
For those looking to understand the possibilities of AI, Billie Mcloughlin and Matt Jones, Audit, Accounts and Innovation Lead at Leavitt Walmsley Associates Limited hosting ‘How to transform your practice with AI’. They will be sharing the practical AI applications firms are using, implementation strategies, and ROI measurement for chatbots, process mapping and other advanced technology.
For more on AI, the session ‘Future-ready firms – how to develop an effective AI strategy’, is being delivered by an expert panel, including Billie Mcloughlin; Craig Clarke, Director of Product and Tony Stevenson, Senior Digital Enablement Manager from FreeAgent. The team will be looking at how practices can leverage their capabilities to future proof.
Billie will also be on the panel ‘Making IT work – controlling change when implementing new software’, alongside Jessica Pillow, Founder, Pillow May; Ian Cooper, Head of UK Operations, FYI Software and Ben Knapp, Director, Nuvo. The session will explore how to get the most value out of any new system and how change needs to be a considered approach that balances People, Process and Technology.
