First glimpse into Accountex London 2024

27 Mar 2024

Accountex London is set to make its annual return to ExCeL on May 15-16 2024, anticipating over ten thousand accountants and finance professionals from all corners of the UK. Following the resounding success of the 2023 event, hailed as the largest in Accountex history, expectations are high for this year's edition.

295 software and service suppliers will be exhibiting, alongside an extensive CPD accredited education programme, to help visitors stay up to date with the evolving landscape of the profession.

‘A 'must-attend' event for any accountant and bookkeeper in industry or practice’

“We’re absolutely thrilled to once again be welcoming the accounting and finance community through the Accountex doors. We understand more than ever that attendees are using their valuable time away from their desks to attend the show, so we strive to ensure their visit is worthwhile. We are prioritising fresh content, especially sessions that focus on practical application, so attendees can start using these insights as soon as they return to their desks.

We also have our most diverse exhibitor list yet, with a mix of established software providers and start-ups.” said Accountex Portfolio Director, Caroline Hobden.

“It wouldn’t be an Accountex show without us having a few fun extras planned, we can’t wait to share these over the next couple months!”

Among the highlights, attendees can reconnect with current suppliers, stay updated on the latest product launches, and explore new avenues for streamlining business processes and cutting costs.

‘Having all suppliers under the same roof is great’

The exhibitor lineup includes industry heavyweights like FreeAgent, Intuit QuickBooks, IRIS, Sage, TaxCalc, Wolters Kluwer, and Xero, alongside emerging players such as NORI HR, Signature Group, and Sovos.

Seeing software demonstrations in person and having face-to-face chats with the teams behind the brands will give visitors a personal insight into how these solutions can be applied to their businesses.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to catch up with the 20:20 Innovation team at stand 830. 20:20 Innovation’s very own Sharon Cooke will be presenting the session: ‘Top 10 tax considerations for 2024/25’ at 4pm on 15 May on the Horizon Stage. On day 2, Billie Mcloughlin and Dave Norris will be on the Orbit Stage at 2pm to present the seminar ‘The modern accountancy practice and how to get there’.

‘Gain insight into the current mindset of the profession and the challenges it faces’

The education programme offers up to 16 free CPD hours and will be held across 13 theatres and 250+ sessions. It will be made up of thought-leaders and critical thinkers in the field and beyond. As well as experts in everything from mental health to neurodiversity. Topics covered include AI, AML, outsourcing/offshoring, branding, Companies House Reform and more.

Attendees can also enjoy the numerous networking opportunities over the two days, including the Bookkeepers Basecamp, Accountex Influencers Roundtables, and post-show gatherings.

Continuing the success from Accountex Summit Manchester, the Ask the Accountants Podcast team will host a Podcast Pitstop, featuring interviews with experts and leaders.

The Start-up Zone will be back, alongside new additions like the Quiet Zone. Geared towards those who need time to decompress from overstimulation, the Quiet Zone will give visitors the chance to recharge in silence and take some time to themselves. The area will be just off the show floor with our D, E & I partner Watch This Sp_ce on hand to help. Their team will also be running a stand where they will be providing free advice and resources.

For the second year, Accountex are proud to announce that Mental Health UK will be their official charity partner. Mental health and wellbeing are an important topic at the show, so this partnership will ensure that visitors can get the help and resources they need. Their team will be on hand to answer any questions and signpost the right support.

“We’re thrilled to continue our work with Mental Health UK. There are so many factors effecting people’s mental health, including inflation and the cost-of-living crisis.” Commented Portfolio Director, Caroline Hobden. “Accountex will be a safe space for people to gain insight and find the right resources to support themselves, their colleagues and their loved ones.”

Also returning for a second year is the ‘Trees for Attendees’ initiative. Accountex are working with Carma to help mitigate their carbon footprint whilst supporting local communities across the world. Carma have pledged to plant a tree for every attendee at Accountex London 2024. So, by attending, visitors are helping support climate positive projects and offset CO2 emissions.

“Wow, what an event! So much to see. I picked up some really useful information and new products, which will help me run my practice. I will definitely be back next year as I got so much from attending.” commented Yasmin an Accounts trainee at Haines Watts who attended last year.
