OBJECTIVES

The course will introduce delegates to the ethical framework that underpins the behavioural standards required for members of professional bodies, such as ICAEW and ACCA.

The course will identify the principals in the framework and then consider the key threats to professional accountants, along with the safeguards that can be applied to mitigate the risks.

KEY TOPICS

The course will cover the following points, using practical examples throughout:

  • Overview of IFAC and professional bodies’ ethical frameworks
  • Reminder of the core principles
  • Identification of ethical threats as it applies to different kinds of work
  • Suggested responses to ethical threats at firm and assignment level
  • Consideration of the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media on the ethical framework
